Ductile iron castings (also called nodular cast iron or spheroidal graphite iron) are engineered iron components designed to deliver high strength, toughness, and excellent fatigue resistance for a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications.
By controlling the microstructure so that the graphite forms in spheroidal (nodular) shapes, ductile iron offers mechanical properties close to steel while retaining the castability, vibration damping, and cost advantages of cast iron.
These castings are widely used in valves, pipe fittings, pump bodies, automotive parts, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and municipal infrastructure, where long service life and reliability under shock, pressure, and cyclic loads are critical.

Developed to provide tensile and yield strength levels close to low-carbon steel, ductile iron castings can handle high loads, internal pressure, and impact forces.
Thanks to the spheroidal graphite structure, these castings exhibit good elongation and fracture toughness, reducing the risk of brittle failure.
The nodular graphite morphology significantly enhances fatigue strength, allowing components to withstand repeated stress cycles and dynamic loading.
Ductile iron offers inherent wear resistance and can be heat-treated for improved hardness, delivering long life in pump and gear housings.
